Terms of Service
Last updated 24 August 2026 · Applies to FlightMap for Android and iOS
These terms describe how FlightMap actually works and what we undertake to do. If anything here does not match the app, that is a bug in this document: please tell us and we will correct it.
1. Who you are agreeing with
FlightMap is made and operated by Zakaria Ybeggazene, an individual developer ("we", "us"). By installing or using FlightMap you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.
You need to be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, to use FlightMap.
2. What FlightMap is, and what it is not
FlightMap is a personal flight logbook. It records flights you have taken, draws them on a map, and works out statistics and badges from them.
FlightMap is explicitly not:
- a live flight tracker, a status board, or a source of departure and arrival times you should rely on to catch a flight;
- a booking, check-in or ticketing service;
- a source of official aviation, safety, customs or immigration information;
- an authoritative record for any legal, tax, insurance, loyalty-programme or emissions-reporting purpose.
Never make a travel decision on the strength of what FlightMap shows you. Check with your airline or the airport.
3. Your account
You do not need an account to use FlightMap. If you create one, it exists so your logbook can be backed up and used on more than one device.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@flightmapapp.com if you think someone else has access to it.
You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time. See the deletion section of our Privacy Policy.
4. Your data is yours
The flights, notes and everything else you put into FlightMap belong to you. We claim no ownership of them. We use them only to provide the app to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Fair use
Please do not:
- use FlightMap to break the law, or to store content you have no right to store;
- try to gain access to accounts, servers or data that are not yours;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except to the extent the law says you may;
- scrape, resell or bulk-extract data obtained through the app, including flight and airport data supplied by our data provider;
- use the app in a way that damages the service or degrades it for others.
We may suspend or close an account that is being used this way.
6. FlightMap Pro
FlightMap is free to use. The free version records up to 25 flights. FlightMap Pro removes that limit and unlocks the additional features listed on the purchase screen in the app.
Pro is offered in two forms:
- an annual auto-renewing subscription, which may include a free trial period; and
- a one-time purchase that unlocks Pro permanently and does not renew.
The current prices, the subscription period and any trial are shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency, and those are the terms that apply.
Billing, renewal and cancellation
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google through your store account, not by us. We never see your payment details.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the period you have paid for runs out.
- If you start a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it becomes a paid subscription. Where Apple requires it, any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by whichever store you bought from and are subject to that store's policy. We cannot issue a refund for a store purchase ourselves, but write to us and we will help you with the request.
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, your statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract is unaffected by anything in this section.
What happens to your flights if Pro ends
Nothing is deleted. If a subscription lapses, every flight you logged stays where it is and stays readable. You simply cannot add new flights beyond the free limit until Pro is active again.
7. Accuracy, and where the information comes from
Flight, airline and airport details are supplied by a third-party aviation data provider and by publicly available airport data. Distances and carbon estimates are calculated approximations. Times imported from a boarding pass or a calendar entry may be estimates, and the app marks them as such where it knows.
We do not warrant that any of it is accurate, complete or current, and you should not treat a FlightMap figure as authoritative.
8. Availability
We try to keep FlightMap working, but it is offered as it is. Parts of it depend on services we do not control (app stores, our database host, our data provider, map and payment services), and those can change, break or be withdrawn. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we will give reasonable notice of a significant change where we can.
The core of the app works offline, and your flights remain readable on your device when the network or any of these services is unavailable.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, FlightMap is provided without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data other than where it is caused by us failing to take reasonable care.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and any liability under mandatory consumer protection law.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
10. Ending things
You can stop using FlightMap and delete your account whenever you like. We may end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and we will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so. If we do, you may ask us for a copy of your data before it is deleted.
11. Our rights in the app
The FlightMap name, logo, design and software are ours. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control; they do not transfer any ownership to you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for a significant change we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use FlightMap after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, you can stop using the app and ask us to delete your account.
13. Law, and your rights as a consumer
If you use FlightMap as a consumer, you keep the full protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your own country's courts. Nothing in these terms takes that away.
Where these terms have been translated, the English version is the authoritative one, except where the law of your country requires otherwise, in which case your language version governs.
